pipin the elf

This year we decided to start the Elf on the Shelf tradition. On December 1st our elf came for the first time. Makenzie named him Pipin (I had a bunch of names for her to choose from or else his name would be Elf). The night before we read her the storybook and told her our elf would be coming while she was sleeping. That first morning that Pipin came he brought a note for Makenzie and breakfast from the north pole. The note explained that Pipin would be going to the north pole every night to report to Santa if Makenzie was being good or bad and would come back every morning. He'll probably have been playing with something while she was sleeping, so she'll find him in a different spot each day. Makenzie was very excited!

He played in one of our nativity sets and like holding baby Jesus.


The night that we got a bunch of packages Pipin had to check out the presents under the tree.

Pipin has even exercised on our stationary bike, slept in Makenzie's stocking, played in her toy airplane and was found in the Christmas tree. One morning he even had a note from Santa asking her to try a little harder to go pee on the potty.

So far this tradition has been a lot of fun. Each morning Makenzie is so excited to find Pipin. Then, when Mitch gets home she is all excited to show him where Pipin is. I love seeing her excitement!
