our first REAL christmas tree

December 1

This year we planned on driving into the mountains and chopping down our own Christmas tree. The day that Mitch had off ended up being pretty bad weather. We also heard from another resident that due to snow you couldn't drive as far up and had to do a lot of hiking to get to the trees. We opted to not cut down our own tree, but still get a real tree, so off to Home Depot we headed.

In true Mitch fashion, he read about each type of tree and asked questions before making a very educated decision on our tree. In the end we ended up with a beautiful tree!

Our first Christmas tradition happens while we are decorating our tree. Each of the girls gets a new ornament that represents something from the year. This year they were Frozen themed. Surprise, surprise!

Decorating the tree!

I love how our tree turned out! After all of the decorating I had a million little pine needles to clean up. It took a little time, but wasn't so bad. Here's to hoping the amazing fresh pine smell overpowers the falling pine needles!
