pumpkin carving

October 29

We decided for carve our pumpkins the Monday before Halloween for family home evening. It was definitely a family project and was a lot of fun! Makenzie was a little hesitant, okay a lot hesitant, when it came to touching the pumpkin guts. Alex was the complete opposite! We planned it for a night that Mitch would be able to be home. We love that his current rotation, derm, has been less time consuming which has allowed him some more time at home. Plus, both his board exams are done, so every minute he is home isn't consumed with studying.

Our pumpkins!
We chose to only carve one of them.

Mitch cut the top off and gutted out the pumpkin.

LOVE this picture!
Mitch is giving Alex some of the pumpkin guts.
Makenzie isn't a fan.

Alex LOVED the pumpkin guts!
We made sure she didn't get the seeds in her mouth.
Eventually, we had to move the bowl because this is all she wanted.

Yay! We convinced Makenzie to get her hand in there!

Poking the holes to carve our ghost.

I did the carving of the ghost.

All done!

We ended our evening with some chocolate frosted donuts!
The perfect way to end. Yummy!
