New York!

June 5 & 6

After Makenzie and I got home from Utah we had one busy week at home. Mitch had his step 1 board exam (which he did great on) at the end of the week. Two days later we took off on a trip to New York with our good friends Gabe and Katie. The drive was long and since we were driving on a Sunday we hit every bit of construction from Louisville to NYC. Gabe's brother is attending Columbia University and let us stay in his apartment while his family and him were in Utah.

Our first day in NYC we decided to explore Central Park. The park is beautiful and so huge! We spent a lot of time walking.

I was amazed that this beautiful park was in the middle of the city.

After exploring the park for a bit we got in line for tickets to Shakespeare in the Park and ate some lunch. After lunch we checked out the turtle pond and then decided it was time for Makenzie's nap. So, we headed to the subway to buy our passes for the week. The "trains" were definitely Makenzie's favorite part of New York.

That night we headed back to Central Park for Shakespeare in the Park. After about 20 minutes we realized that Makenzie was not going to sit through it (we really should have thought that through). So Mitch, Makenzie and I walked through part of the park we hadn't seen yet. I figured out why you don't walk through the park at night. It is a bit creepy. We reached the end of the park and as we were looking for the right subway station we ended up walking to times square. Times Square is quite amazing at night and incredibly packed with people. So we just walked around until we found our station.

  1. I wish we had seen more of central park than we did. Your pictures are so pretty. Time square is pretty crazy.
