August 25
I had been wanting to go to the state fair each year, but we have always had a reason as to why we couldn't go. Since this is potentially our last year here in Louisville, we decided we were going. Mitch started the day off with tutoring anatomy for the first year med students. So, the girls and I picked Mitch up at the med school when he was done and headed to the fair.
We started off by checking out the different animals.
Makenzie loved being able to see all the farm animals!
Alex mostly hung out in the stroller, which she was perfectly content with.
As Mitch held Alex up to the pigs one of them snorted loudly at her.
She responded with a loud (but sort of deep), "ahh!"
It was pretty hilarious.
Best moment of the day!
As we were walking around looking at the agriculture portion, they had these pictures to stick your faces in. Makenzie had fun posing for each one!
Checking out the balloon display!
These two have started to love playing together!
The police department had a course set up for the little kids to ride tricycles.
They had to stop at red lights and stop signs and then could go once it changed to green.
The police officers taught them about the rules to the roads.
Makenzie needed a little help, but she loved it!
The ducklings were my favorite!
We ate hushpuppies, fries and nachos for lunch and then got some ice cream for a little sweet treat. We walked outside by the food vendors for a few minutes, but we ended up needing to leave (I still had to work that night). That meant, unfortunately, we weren't able to do any of the rides. That was okay though. We were able to see the animals, watch a magician, look at the different vendors and spend time together as a family! It was definitely a fun day spent at the state fair!
