With every birthday comes a visit to the pediatrician for a well visit. Makenzie loves going to the doctor. Part of it is because she likes the doctor stuff, but it's also because we have the BEST doctor!
She had to have her finger poked, but no shots!
Her stats are:
weight - 32.4 lbs
height - 37.5 inches
Alex and I while waiting for Kenz to get checked.
We discussed Makenzie's urinary reflux and set up the next appointment with the Pediatric Nephrologist. We're hoping to get all the tests done before our move at the end of May. Makenzie checked out completely healthy and right on track. I'm so grateful that she has been so healthy and hopefully we can get all her urinary stuff figured out!
April 19
After 6 months on Septra (the antibiotic for her urinary reflux) it was time for the follow up visit. We had been visiting the pediatrician every 2 months to have her urine tested for non-symptomatic infections, which had all come back negative. So far the treatment plan had put a stop to the UTI's. And we were so happy about that. We headed into the Nephrologist's office to determine the next steps in the process.
Makenzie gave a urine sample, which showed no infection. The doctor determined what we were doing was working and wanted to keep her on the same treatment plan for another 6 months and then we would redo the ultrasound and VCU scan to determine if the reflux has been corrected. So we'll continue with the antibiotic, periodic urine tests, etc. until October.
We are so grateful for the great doctors we have and that Makenzie's reflux is getting better! It does make me a little nervous that we'll be moving and needing to find new doctors, but I'm sure we'll get it all worked out!
