another day in portland

Despite the rainy weather, we decided to head to the Portland Zoo for part of the day. We love going to zoos and have visited many throughout the country. I guess you can say it's a tradition we have.



 

 

 

 

 

 

The highlight of the visit was definitely seeing the orangutans. Ever since Makenzie was little she has had some unique experiences with them. We had another fun one! This orangutan come up to the glass to see all the kids up close. Makenzie decided to give her a little kiss through the glass and she kissed back! So of course Makenzie kept giving her kisses and the orangutan kept kissing back. It was so cute and Makenzie loved it! We tried to get the other girls to do it as well, but they were all a little afraid to get close to the glass. I have a video, but they never load. I'll try to get it to load and post it.

That night we had a babysitter watch the kids while the adults (and Nash) went out for a night in the city to celebrate Bryant's birthday. We had dinner at a local Italian restaurant, which ended up being just ok. The highlight was dessert. We went to Moonstruck Chocolate Café. It was AMAZING! So many great chocolate options. We definitely splurged a little and it was totally worth it!
