celebrating

While Mitch's parents were in town we celebrated Makenzie's birthday. It was a little early, but she was so excited. She has been talking about her birthday a lot this year. So, Grandpa Mendenhall baked Makenzie a birthday cake (Dona Vincent's never fails devil's food cake with non-sweet icing - a Mendenhall favorite) and we celebrated.

Helping Grandpa bake the cake (kind of)!

Blowing out her candle. She was a little early to blow it out. We hadn't stopped singing yet!

Opening presents!

Loving her new dress that matches the one Grandma got Alex!

Playing her new Princess matching game. She had to play before eating cake.

Loving the game! Thank you Aunt Elyse!

I just love her face! She got a match!

Finally eating cake - well, the icing.

The next day Grandma and Grandpa took Makenzie to Toys'R'Us to pick out a toy for her birthday. She picked out a Minnie Mouse cart and a Princess purse. They said that she pushed the cart around the store and just wouldn't part with it. Needless to say, she's been a little obsessed with it at home too! After shopping they headed to McDonald's for lunch.

Ready to go shopping with Grandma and Grandpa!

Can you see the cart? She pushes it around with all of her princess toys in it. Silly girl!

It was so fun to celebrate Makenzie's birthday while Mitch's parents were here. I'm pretty sure Makenzie loved it! And she totally loves all of the presents! Thank you!
