grandma and grandpa came to visit

On March 1st Grandma and Grandpa Mendenhall came to visit. We couldn't have been more excited! Makenzie kept telling me that her grandma and grandpa were coming. She knows her grandparents don't live close to us and she's seen some of her friends' grandparents. It had been over 9 months since she had seen hers (in person). Needless to say, she was so excited that HER grandparents were coming. And I think it's safe to say they were just as excited to see Makenzie and to meet Alex.



We had a good time together. We went to see The Lorax and The Vow (Carolyn and I), ate out a couple of times (Wild Eggs and Mark's Feed Store - yum!), played cards, had Alex's blessing, and celebrated Makenzie's birthday early. They totally spoiled Makenzie and Alex, and well, us too.



Mitch had the first few days they were here off and was able to spend time with his parents. It was just fun to spend time together since we aren't able to visit more. Makenzie loved all of the attention and I'm sure Alex loved all of the cuddling. It was so nice for me to not have to constantly entertain Makenzie and to have someone else help with the babe (Mitch helps a lot, but he does have school).



Grandma and Grandpa were here for almost a week, which went by way too fast! While here they experienced 70 degree weather, tornado warnings, rain and snow. Unfortunately, the weather delayed their flight home and they had a long travel day. Makenzie was so sad to see them go. After her nap the day they left, she woke up asking where they were. Later that day she came up to me to tell me that she missed Grandma and Grandpa. Hopefully, we'll be able to see them again soon. Thank goodness for skype in the meantime!
